After Gods Heart

“What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” - AW Tozer

Colossians 3:12-17 is an incredible description of what it looks like as Christians live into the "new self" in Christ. Compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience are expressed as we live into the resurrection life provided in Jesus through the Holy Spirit. These virtues are reflected in relationships with one another and the world around us. These characteristics are not something we can manufacture on our own, but are produced as we go after God's heart.

We reflect what we worship. Humanity has been designed to be shaped by whatever we give our attention. As ambassadors of the King, we end up living out what we believe God is like. The list in Colossians 3:12-14, the attributes Paul shares, are primarily about God. These are words God uses to share what He is like (see Exodus 34:6).

As you enter this week, receive the compassion, mercy, and love God has for you. It is then we'll be able to share it with those we interact with throughout this week.
