Value: Glorifying God

What is the greatest command for followers of Christ?

What often comes to mind is Jesus' response to the scribe in Mark 12, to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength." and "Love your neighbor as yourself." This is often what we try to do with varying success. It's later in Jesus' ministry when He gives a greater command.

As we begin the new year, we're starting things off with working out the core values expressed here at Oak Hill. Our number one value is to glorify God! We were created for this purpose! I believe glorifying God can be summed up as being everything God created us to be. This isn't a pursuit of self-actualization, but of living into what God has designed and intended - which is why it is important for us to know what God has designed and intended! We see this expressed in scripture and revealed in Christ.
