Discerning What’s True

In our context today, the word "gospel" is often thrown around like a label or a brand - it’s used as a marketing tool or a vague umbrella term to describe the activities of Christians. We hear about the importance of being gospel centered, we have coalitions on the gospel, we come together for the gospel and have gospel projects, we even have gospel music. It becomes really important for us to know what we are saying when we are talking about the gospel. Gospel precision becomes - not just a theological nitpicking - but an important distinction because misconstruing or distorting the gospel can lead us down paths that stray from the truth of Christ's message and its transformative power.
