Humility is an important aspect of living resiliently. Paul demonstrates this crucial element of the Christian life in 1 Corinthians 3:18-4:7. In this passage, Paul underscores how what is in our heart is evident in our actions - particularly in how we relate with one another. Pride is deceptive and results in the divisions and factions being addressed. Those within the Corinthian church were using the standards and expectations of the world around them, believing that who they knew, what they knew, or even how they were gifted made them superior to others. Humility recalibrates these perspectives.
